Meet The IT Team

Join us as we get to know the individuals driving our IT department forward and what they've been up to this year.

Ranjiv Manak – IT Manager

 

Ranjiv has been with Destination Auto Group for nine years. His knowledge has grown significantly, and he has helped DAG standardize IT equipment, policies, and procedures. He has overcome many challenges and continues to provide staff with exceptional service. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies, cooking with different recipes and techniques, trying new cuisines, and winding down enjoying a glass of whisky.

 

Kajeepan Vadivel – Junior Network Administrator

 

Kajeepan has been a part of the Destination Auto Group team for over six years. Over this time, he’s been at the forefront of answering help desk tickets and working on projects to improve overall efficiency for the staff and IT Department. He continues to expand his knowledge and learn new skills. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games and watching TV shows and movies.

 

Gauravjot Garaya – Junior IT Support Specialist

 

Gaurav has been working with Destination Auto for a year and a half, gaining some serious IT know-how along the way. Currently on the path to a Computer Science degree, he balances the work-study hustle. Off the clock, you will catch Gaurav enjoying movies, gaming, working on side software projects, unwinding by lakes and oceans, tuning into EDM beats, practicing his swing at the golf range, and keeping an eye out for concerts by his favourite DJs and bands. He believes life is a journey and is navigating it with a mix of work, study, and a whole lot of hobbies.

 

IT Year in Review

 

The IT Department was hard at work with several projects this year. Learn more about what they have been up to.

 

Accomplishments:

We continued to focus on security by completing the following initiatives:

 

  • Replaced all the network switches with the latest technology to provide faster connectivity speeds and robust security.
  • Replaced Wireless Access points at Destination Mazda and Destination Toyota. Our new networks at these dealerships provide more secure company connectivity and improved customer experience with password-less connectivity.
  • Automated security patching of computers to mitigate any gaps in updates.

 

2024 Initiatives:

We will be replacing many PCs with new hardware running Windows 11. These new devices will be faster and run the latest software.

  
Help Desk

We had 1540 tickets this year, which works out to about 7 tickets a day.
