Leadership Transition Announced at Destination Auto Group: President Becomes Chairman, New President and CEO Appointed

Burnaby, BC - May 1, 2023 -Destination Auto Group has announced a leadership transition that will see its current Founder and President, Aziz Ahamed, assume the role of Chairman of the Board going forward. In this position, Aziz will continue to provide guidance and strategic direction to the Group.
Simultaneously, Destination has appointed Adil Ahamed as its new President and CEO. Honored as a 2022 National Laureate by the Canadian Automobile Dealer Association (CADA), Adil brings to the role over a decade of experience in the automotive industry, as well as prior experience in investment banking and corporate finance and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
In a statement, Aziz, who has led the company for over 35 years and was also recognized as a CADA Laureate, expressed his confidence in the future of the company under the new leadership: "I am thrilled to announce Adil’s appointment as our new President and CEO. Adil has overseen the company’s growth and transition with business models that reflect the needs of our customers and guidance of our OEM partners. With his experience and track record, I am confident that he will continue to build on the success that we have achieved in recent years.”
Over his tenure with the company, which began in 2012, Adil has focused on creating a culture of operational excellence driven by strong ethical practices, innovation, communication and capacity building. The eldest son of Aziz, Adil also expressed his excitement: "I am honored to have had the opportunity to build a leadership team, under my father’s mentorship and guidance, that we can be very proud of. I look forward to continuing to work closely with our Advisory Board and Executive Team to drive growth and success for the company."
